The UK’s Energy Revolution
Industrial Strategy Challenge
Funded by a new Innovate UK Industrial Strategy Challenge programme, I am excited to have been commissioned for editorial photography documenting innovative local sustainable solutions and a mix of new energy technologies from across England and Wales. The Energy Revolution tells the stories of innovators, academics, researchers and members of the public working towards a cleaner energy future and driving positive change. The Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund aims to bring together the UK’s world leading research with business to meet the major industrial and societal challenges of our time. The fund was created to provide funding and support to UK businesses and researchers, part of the government’s £4.7 billion increase in research and development over the next four years.
As part of this Energy Revolution commission, a number of energy and decarbonisation related projects are planned including SPECIFIC Solar Manufacturing in Port Talbot, The Active Building Classroom at Swansea University, Ecotricity, Forest Green Rovers FC, Bank Energi Southbank, Nottingham Trent Basin and Deregallera, a materials development company producing electric vehicle batteries.
Look out for news posts exploring some of these inspiring projects in more detail.
