Kon Tum Caphe
Vietnam is the second largest coffee producer in the World with an estimated 80% of coffee plantations in the Central Highlands owned by small-scale private farmers. On average, farming households own only one to hectares and for plantation workers the work is exhausting and living conditions can be harsh with many living in temporary shelters. The harvesters I met started their day at 5am and picked, sorted, sweated, pruned and transported coffee cherries into the night, all for the price of your daily flat white.
