Located in the picturesque village of Wark on the outskirts of Northumberland National Park, Battlesteads is a Hotel with a focus on service and sustainability
Carbon-neutral heating and biomass hot water systems, solar PV panels and extensive gardens with two polytunnels which provide fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables for the kitchen throughout the year. Toiletries are all organic and locally sourced and food waste kept to the minimum, the use of empty toilet roll inners for potting seedlings and the wormeries munching through kilos of discarded food to create compost for the on-site mushroom farm.
